About
We read various Chinese classic works together, either in English or Chinese, and through a pleasurable, free discussion, we enjoy sharing our different opinions and interpretations, often experiencing a meeting of minds. We all benefit from the inspiration and wisdom we find in traditional texts.

Format of a reading session
Our reading session consists of two parts: 蒙学 Meng Xue (elementary study) for about 30mins) and 大学 (advanced study) for about 60 mins. Meng Xue, in ancient China, serves as children's first formal education, to learn either the Chinese characters, rhythms, or the basic requisites for being a good person and living in harmony with others. Meng Xue is the basis for understanding more advanced texts. In the Da Xue part, we read and discuss these texts from Jing 经 Shi 史 Zi 子 Ji 集, such as The Analects, etc.

We read and memorise the Meng Xue text in the first 30 minutes of a reading session. There will be brief explanation or discussion of the texts. For the rest 1 hour, we will focus on the reading of the Da Xue text, including the English translation, explanation of the texts and difficult words, and discussion of our own feelings and interpretations.
